This can sometimes get worse with nervousness; I've had it go both ways.
What I would suggest, is that the accompaniment (I am assuming you are a
solo performer and not playing with a singer) insert extra bars in a couple
of places, where the insertion will not be too obvious. This would not be a
repeat of four bars over and over, or anything so tacky, but repetition of
perhaps part of a verse, or of an entire verse, Think of the Mozart Concerto
and how each movement is put together. I am suggesting something along
these lines. I think it would work well and keep the melodic line going, so
as not to alert any but the pickiest listeners that a change was made. I
hope you play well and enjoy this lovely prayer of music.
