Both Templeton's Pocket Size Sonatas
have been recorded by the young Japanese
clarinettist Tatsuzo AKASAKA
who is very well known in
his native country but his CDs
are not exported (as far as I know)
and the texts are mostly in Kanji, Katakana etc.

No 1 is on Sony SRCR 2261 (1998) I contributed to the notes
Improvisation - Modal Blues - In Rhythm: Moderato
No 2 is on Orange Note ON 3007 (1993) This recording is with an added double
bass part!
Moderato (and mellow) - Menuetto: Andante gone (sic) moto - Allegretto:
Quasi cool

In 1973 Jack Brymer recorded the Minuet of No 2 on LP ABK 16
but called it a Gavotte in error.

I have never actually heard the #2. What's it like? Are there any recordings
available? Thanks all again. Rod
