Doubling sax is pretty common among clarinetists. Throughout the year
(lately), I play more sax than clarinet, but during the summer clarinet
predominates. It depends on what groups I play in are active when. I have
also played some flute in pit bands, but it is a weak double at best. The
only embouchure trouble I have is right at the moment of switching to/from
flute, trying to get myself reset.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
