"Going over the break" refers to going up or down between throat Bb or
nearby notes and B natural and nearby notes with all or nearly all holes
covered. It refers to the break in the scale pattern of gradually opening
more and more holes (shortening the effective tube) until you suddenly
close all again and start over with the register key added. It is
applicable to the saxophone, but somewhat less used as a terminology.
