Oops,
Forgot to reply to the rest of the message. There really aren't
any good, cheap places to get high-quality equipment. There is a Mars
Music (the national chain) which has OK prices (mail order is still way
cheaper) and forget about sheet music. I have my students mail order just
about everything. There IS a small music store which carries SOME decent
selections of music but they are not really comprehensive. Depends what
level you are an how selective your needs are. The scene is pretty dead
here - not a whole lot of classical freelancing (tho plenty of
weddings/parties, etc.)

Are there any reputable repairmen in the area? Or do I have to travel to Philly for good ones? Where's a good place to get music and stuff?
And finally, are there any past/present Peabody students out who would like to let me know how things are like there?
