If I have it straight, the solo/chamber/vocal/mini score publications
operation of Kalmus became part of Belwin. After many, many
changes of different sized fish eating each other, I think that
operation is now part of Warner Brother Music Publications.
(At some earlier point in this chain of coporate buyouts, the
Coca-Cola logo appeared on Kalmus editions--I'm not making this up!)

Meanwhile, the original Kalmus continued its orchestral parts
sales and rental operation. New editions of piano/vocal/chamber
music in the spirit of the original Kalmus (i.e., reprints of
out-of-copyright material) began to be issued by "Masters Music
Publications", which was spun off from the surviving Kalmus
operation. Now the owners of the old Kalmus are letting
old Kalmus items go out of print from their catalog, Masters Music
is reissuing some of those items.

Masters also has some original compositions and arrangements
that they've issued. Among their new clarinet offerings are
arrangements for clarinet and piano of Scott Joplin rags,
Eubie Blake numbers, and Granados Spanish Dances.

They also offer a large catalog of concert
and marching band publications, reprinting out-of-copyright
pieces and reissues that they've contracted with the current owners.

Masters Music Publications can be reached through their
web page at: http://www.masters-music.com
Edwin F. Kalmus can be reached at http://www.kalmus-music.com
Both companies are in Boca Raton, Florida.

No, I have no financial interest in any of these companies, other
than all the money I've paid over the years for some interesting
compositions from them.
