I was just reading about all these professional musicians and adults that
have gone to elementary schools and played. I'm only in high school, but I
know that the live music makes a huge impact on those kids. A few weeks ago,
one of the local elementary school's asked our little woodwind quintet (just
5 high school musicians) to come and play a performance for them and then
talk about each of our instruments. You should of seen the looks on their
faces! They sat there for 45 minutes taking in every word we had to say and
listening to every note we played. It's not often I see little 6 and 7 year
olds sit still for that long. (or high schoolers even, lol) Most had never
seen anything like it before, only read about it in books and seen
photographs. And the questions were endless. I really truly believe there
is nothing like hearing the real thing whether it be an adult or a five year
old child. There is so much to learn from seeing a musician perform, not
just hearing.

Ok, don't know if my note had any relevance to the topic really, but I
thought I'd throw it in.
