Dear all,

I have heard from ppl tt you have to break into a new instrument before it
will sound properly....

How true is this?

I got this answer...
>Not true - it should sound good right away!! However - through constant
>playing, the sound will open up - that is become more free blowing and
>flexible....in my opinion. Lawrie Bloom's comment that the new Buffet he
>received last summer has opened up considerably - this just supports what
>I am saying.

so what is the reason behind all this?
Why does the instrument "open up" or get "seasoned" if it indeed happens?

Are there any steps tt need to be taken to break into an instrument
properly?
Is it important to do so?

Thanx!
