...of the several sources mentioned by members of this list, at least one
or two [Dale Music being the store that sticks in my mind] are strictly
"retail" and will charge the "highest" possible prices on everything. [I
can recall when they enthusiatically encouraged me to buy a Paris Selmer
alto horn at list price! I consider this type of marketing close to
dishonest. Moreover, I've never seen them offer reeds at less than "list."]

As someone mentioned...the *best* source for reeds, and anything else for
the serious musician, for that matter, is Chuck Levin's...officially called
Washington Music Center. Phone is 301/946-2300.

It will pay you to detour a few miles north to Wheaton to take advantage of
Chuck's lower prices. And...of course...I have no connection with Chuck
other than being a *long time* very satisfied customer!
