What a true fact! Over the years I have acted as manager of a WW 5tet,
a WW 8tet, a Saxophone 4tet, and two amateur orchestras. Keeping track
of people and keeping people coming to rehearsals--especially prima
donna members, like first trumpet players who think they are God's gift
to community music--is harder than hell. Not to mention dealing with
halls, soloisits, and publicity.

If you play in a community ensemble, attend thy rehearsals, help thy
manager, and keep thy commitments. It's the best possible thing thou
can do for the group as a whole.
