In the early 1970s, The Kinks incorporated
a dixieland-esque horn section (clarinet/trumpet/trombone)
into the recording and touring band.
Look especially for the albums "Muswell Hillbilles"
and "Everybody's In Showbiz".

The title track of Ian Hunter's "All American Alien Boy"
has some good clarinet licks.

Don't forget Joni Mitchell's "For Free" -- a tribute to
a clarinet player as well as having the sound of the
instrument.

And I second the nomination of Supertramp. A woodwind
player was a regular part of the band, though soprano
sax turns up more often than clarinet on the albums I've
heard. I'm trying to remember the title of one song that
has a klezmer-style clarinet part.

For that matter, if you're compiling a variety of genres,
don't leave out klezmer music on the clarinet tape.
