Interesting choice of instruments she has made! I don't think I've ever
SEEN one of the "contra" horns outside of a catalogue. They certainly
are not in the "major" New York stores. Even non-soprano clarinets are
hard to find. When my girlfriend's kid was looking for a bass clarinet
(NOTE: he bought the Malerne at Roberto's), Manny's in NY said they sell
new Yamahas, but don't keep them in stock. If they order one, it is
automatically a special order for a specific customer, and both they and
the buyer are stuck for it. You have to commit to the horn before you
ever see it. I've heard of arranged marriages but this is absurd:-).

I would love to have the chutzpah, if someone asks me what I play, to
answer that I play the serpent, crumhorn, and chalumeau.
