Of course. That's why they're conductors. <g> Toscanini was supposedly
notorious about singing/humming along; in tune, but not a very pretty
voice. On a video that I have (I think, a rehearsal clip of Aida) he sings
along with orchestra and then later, with the chorus.)

(With the community band I conduct, I always threaten to sing the important
missing part. Gives them incentive to show up for rehearsal. <g>)
