I have not read this article but I can image that the issue of cleaning your
teeth is to do with the cleanliness of your clarinet. When we eat, we
collect food particles in our teeth which can easily be deposited in your
clarinet through blowing. A good habit to have is to brush your teeth before
playing your instrument, especially if you ate right before. I remember one
time I could not figure out why my throat Bb sounded so nasty. In my lesson
my teacher took of the register key and took the hard part of a cue tip and
put it in the tone hole and pushed all this nasty gunk out of it. After
that the Bb was in tune and sounded better. The problem was that food
particles and dust had built up in there. So that is my opinion of why the
Brushing your teeth article was in there.
