They *should* be exciting. They should be *musically* exciting. While
this requires that the performer not look like they are dead or nearly so,
but it does not require that they dance, wave the bell of the instrument
in the air, or otherwise choreograph the music.

If one's enjoyment of the music requires these sorts of antics, it must be
particularly unrewarding to listen to recordings, where the choreography
cannot be seen.

If you ever get a chance to have a private conversation with Stolzman, ask
him how he feels that he ranks in comparison to Brody, Drucker, Morales,
Marcellus, etc., etc.

That's where we differ on this point. I expect to *hear* some excitement
generated.
