Thank you very much for your reply.
With such powerful advocacy
I should, if I were wise enough,
clearly keep quiet so as
not to confuse the message.

Ferneyhough - Harry Sparnaay told me once
that it is only possible to get him right 80 per cent
of the time; that's if you are virtually immortal.
We don't hear so much by Dillon, Dench or Finnessy.

Up to now I have not met British clarinettists
who might reciprocate with views on
clarinet music from the new world.
Beyond Bernstein, Copland (Vn Sonata)
Castelnuovo-Tedesco (USA from 1939), New York Counterpoint,
and Corigliano's concerto, I would have to go carefully
when talking about the chamber music or concertos
by Mason, Elter, Dahl, Moore, Bill Smith, Muczynski,
Diamond, Palmer, Dello Joio, Elliott Schwartz, Foss,
Stevens, Quincy Porter etc., or I would end up talking to myself.
