Extract is a flavoring for cooking. They use an alcohol type material to
extract the flavoring component so basically it is a flavored alcohol. Of
course the artificial almond extract is merely a chemical that tastes the
same dissolved in water. Neither alcohol nor water is suitable for oiling
your clarinet. Thus you need almond oil. Bascially the oil is obtained by
grinding and squeezing the almonds.
