For me, I returned to the clarinet after watching a church orcehstra
concert, and I realized I missed playing. It is amazing that we go
chugging away at our weekly ritual of work, home, family, etc.(it is
so easy to dismiss the idea o f playing agin after all these years.) but,
a single concert may rekindle an interest and desire to play again.
There are quite a few bands in the DC area to participate in. Many do
not charge fees or hold auditions which are attractive to novices and
returnees.
