What I was trying to do when I posted the above definitions was present
standard definitions for these specific words and then apply those words
to clarinet customization. What I mean when I use the word "customize"
(notice I did not say "build a custom clarinet" but "customize" - meaning
an existing clarinet) is to alter an existing clarinet in some way as to
make it special to your needs.

When one makes a custom mouthpiece, they are taking a blank and putting
their own facing, bore, and interior dimensions on an existing blank.
When one customizes a mouthpiece, they are taking an existing finished
mouthpiece and doing the same.
