I started playing clarinet in 1957 but took a few years off from active
playing.
If you look here http://www.boosey.com/mi/1193.html you can see Buffet's
description of resonance keys on their bass clarinet (although I
understand this description is incorrect for the new model). They have
described, what I assume are some of the same keys as on my alto clarinet,
in terms of what note is played when the key is open rather than what is
played when the key is closed (which makes sense).
If you look at this picture of the Buffet 1503 alto clarinet
http://www.boosey.com/mi/big1503.html , you can see the first and fourth
key I described.
Selmer offers an option low F resonance key on their Recital soprano
clarinets. They say it provides extra venting for a clearer tone on low F.
That is my understanding of the function of resonance keys. I have a
picture of it in a catalog, but unfortunately, couldn't find an example on
their web site although it is mentioned.
I gather resonance keys are very common on oboes and also used on
bassoons.

Gary,
I realize you were trying to answer someones questions, buy wow, you've
got
me totally confused. Now I have questions too. What is your definition of
a
"resonance" key? We need to define terms. Can we start there?
Without wishing to intimidate, may I ask how long you've been playing
clarinet?
