And don't even limit yourself to clarinet players. My teacher and I agree that Heifetz recordings have influenced our playing more than any clarinetist have. We listen intently trying to mimick his bowing and phrasing. I also listen to conductors, my favorites being Scherchen, Celibadache, Furtwangler, Mravinsky, and there are many others. Listen especially to pre-WWII European orchestras, back when the art of bowing was at its pinnacle.
Go even further. Listen to jazz, folk, rock, pop artists. Check out the world music scene. I've also learned a lot listening to Argentinian tango, kawwali, indian music, son, and Jewish cantors.
