I'm not "sic'ing" anyone on you. I would just like to point out that
making statements implying that certain people in orchestras endorse
certain brands for financial gain alone is insulting to those people who
worked to develop those competing instruments.

Alvin, you implied by you statement (which I quoted accurately) that
members of certain orchestras endorsed for money only. If that were true
(and you mentioned Chicago by name) then at least one of the Chicago
players must be endorsing for money. Which one? I'm asking the question
you said I should ask.

I believe you. He told me he used a number of different clarinets and
did not mention what his primary clarinet was. I asked for a specific
reason - to make sure that he didn't have any pre-set requirements for
his students.

But Gigliotti endorsed and played the 10-G after it came out. Are you
telling me that he really played Buffets because the 10-G is a copy of
the R13? That's a stretch.

John Yeh plays Yamaha today, not Buffet, at least to my knowledge.
Where's the hypocrisy ?

Does Drucker endorse a clarinet right now? Did he then?

Your point being? I'm looking for the "hypercritically endorse other
brands such as Selmer, Yamaha and Leblanc due to financial gain????????
"

> All of these Great Clarinetist either play or have extensively played
> Buffet R-13 clarinets professionally and that is undisputed FACT!

Again, what's your point? I'm not arguing with the fact that they played
Buffets - I'm asking who are playing one of the other 3 brands you
quoted for "financial gain alone". I'm still asking the question you
posed.

> Judas wanted a few pieces of silver for his integrity. What brand of
> clarinet do you play Mr. Charette???????

Selmer. But ... I am not a Selmer rep, nor a Selmer artist, nor do I
sell or represent _any_ musical instrument or accessory. I work on
computer systems for a living - so I have no axe to grind or barrel to
push. The Sneezy.Org site has sponsorships from many companies (and
they're proudly displayed on the site). The only clarinet manufacturer
sponsoring Sneezy now is Patricola. Any time I mention one of the
sponsors in a posting I note that fact. I charge $50.00 a year for a
sponsorship on sneezy - not what I'd consider any great financial gain
by any measure. There ain't enough silver in Sneezy to feed my family.

BTW, Mr. Swiney, if you'd care to read postings of mine in the past,
you'd find out that I have nothing but high regard for Buffet and their
US Rep, Francois Kloc, if you're imputing that I'm a "Buffet hater".
Francois did a fair amount of work on my son's Festivals, and I count
Francois as one of my friends.

One last thing. Maybe some people think I'm reaching too far when I said
Mr. Swiney implied that some people in certain orchestras were
unethical. I'm going to do a bit of substitution:

"An even better question is: How many of today's repairperson legends
from companies such as Affordable Music, Etc. are still in possession of
these proven Selmer, Yamaha and Leblanc barrels, play on these older
barrels, but yet hypercritically endorse other brands such as Moennig
due to financial gain???????? That is the question you should be
asking!"

Now, I don't believe the implications in the above statement _at all_,
yet Mr. Swiney wants us to accept _his_ implications.
