Subj: [kl] What _is_ a "klarinet-owner"??
Date: Wed, 26 May 1999 17:46:49 -0400

Dear friends,
I recently received an email from one of our members. It was in response to a
tiny, tiny flame. One line read:
"Please reprimand this member and do not allow flaming on the list.
Otherwise, people will be more and more hesitant to contribute."

As klarinet-owner I am not in the business of reprimanding or disallowing
any flaming on this list. Some lists have more "management" than this one;
some people like it, some not. As klarinet-owner my duties are limited to
making sure the computer runs, that mail is going back and forth, and if
you have problems subscribing or unsubscribing I'm here to guide you in
getting it right (seldom do I actually subscribe or unsubscribe someone
manually, rather, I send more detailed instructions if there's a glitch).

There are times when I'd like to see the list moderated, but then the views
of the moderator get superimposed on the discussion; it's inevitable.

If you wish to complain then you may do it either privately or publically,
but the klarinet-owner won't get involved.

Cheers,
Mark Charette@-----.org
