Thanks, Cindy.
Query for the Sand paper experts out there. Is 220 the FINEST ? When I went
to Wal-mart recently all I could find was 180. The 180 had a ADHESIVE BACK
which would be nice and useful in making a "tool" to sand reeds, etc. I
realized that the 180 wasn't high enough at the time in Wal-Mart. Does it go
any higher than 220? Does Ferree's sell a small hand sanding tool and
sandpaper?
Thanks.

"No fooling! It's a handy thing to have, too. I've used it to "spackle"
thumb
rest holes, gouges in a wood alto clarinet where the lyre bracket had been
ripped out, and even surface "tooth ruts" on a wood eefer mouthpiece. The
kit
consists of hot stuff glue and grenadilla powder.
Use only as much powder as you need and very slightly overfill the hole.
When
you add the glue, watch out! Talk about exothermic reactions! Very HOT. You
can use 220-grit sandpaper (or whatever) to sand the result to a nice finish
when it cools down. I like to use sandpaper wetted with some vegetable oil
when I sand this material. It looks like "lava" at first but, with patience,
you will have a nice, smooth finish when you complete the job.
