Okay, I knew I wouldn't get away with that - I was in a hurry and I didn't
want to type "warm" and "dark," those twin cliches of tone description. I'm
of a school of thought that there are no really good words to precisely
describe tone, outside of technical acoustical terms which a lot of people
don't understand. So I don't spend a lot of time trying.

The Premier doesn't appear to favor lower harmonics, nor does it appear to
facilitate great dynamic range. I thought I heard more reed buzz when I
played it, but that could have been the reed. Those are some components of
a mature tone to me. YMMV, but I have played the mouthpiece, and so have
some of my students, and that's my opinion.
