We are in a Renaissance time for analog recordings. There has never been
such a choice of excellent equipment from turntables through cartridges to
play vinyl. If one would invest in a $200 record cleaning machine (From
Audio Advisor) and clean records with the proper cleaners, the sound would
amaze you! If one would even use a hand held record cleaner it would make
a good difference. My university students see and hear my rig in my office
which is based around a turntable and are amazed with the sound. Yes I own
lots of CD's but have many times the LP's. There are a number of
newsgroups or audio and high end audio, try looking at www.stereophile.com
for a start.
