I own a recording of AMG playing the Mozart, but I got it last summer on
a 3-disc SONY reissue of Ormandy's recordings of the Mozart wind
concerti. I'm not in love with how that vintage of the Philadelphia
made Mozart sound, but the soloists were/are/remain magnificent (Mason
Jones played French horn to die for). I recall now someone saying
here(?) that there WAS indeed a second volume of First Chair, and that
AMG played the Debussy Premiere Rhapsodie. If I didn't dream this, I
think it might just be time to hunt the used record stores and look for
a new turntable.....

It would have been fabulous if the Philadelphia did what the NY
Philharmonic did years later, i.e., issued recordings by each of their
principals, letting them play whatever strikes their fancy.
