Have your instructor check the instrument out. It is very likely you have
a leak somewhere. Given your major, it would be false economy indeed to
try to avoid having the instrument repaired. Or your current mouthpiece
could be chipped or have other problems. Of course it could just be a reed
problem, too.

The only mouthpieces I know of with a significantly different angle are the
Vandoren Profile 88 series.
