OK, you still think I am simply bashing Buffet and supporting Selmer?
Well, Selmer's Bundy line of saxophones STINKS! They are archaic and
awkward to play. I cannot imagine why they have not corrected THEM, either
(They finally have replaced the alto, about 40 or 50 years late, but the
new tenor is not even on the horizon). If I had my choice between a Selmer
Paris S80 Series II alto (the accepted standard pro sax) and a Yamaha 875,
I would take the Yamaha in a heartbeat. But we've tried selling them. You
can't GIVE them away to people who walk in determined to buy themselves a
Selmer. But this IS the KLARINET list, and the R-13 WAS the original topic
of discussion. And that very attitude is really the main thing I object to.

By the way, yes, the Selmer USA clarinets leave plenty to be desired, too,
keywork-wise. I still like them for sound, but Yamaha, which we carry, and
Vito and Buffet (Evette), which we do not, also get my recommendation.
Don't get me started on Artley, yet UMI makes many fine instruments, too.
Yes, I am opinionated, but quite a bit more broadminded than you are trying
to paint me. I simply have questions about the Buffet model R-13. Period.

Apparently I have already forgotten! When in the last two or three days
did someone post a problem they had about any other clarinet that required
extensive service to correct? Did I miss something?

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
