Hey Peter,

'Wanted to let you know that I received your CD in
the mail yesterday. I've listened to a few tracks
so far, and I want to congratulate you and the Con-
tinuum new music ensemble for a terrific album of
modern music. I've heard other fine performances
of contemporary music, including works written for
Laura Flax, and many presentations by Voices of
Change (the premiere new music group in Dallas,
TX). What impressed me most about your CD is
that all of the music is played so convincingly,
i.e.; there is a sense of cohesion and under-
standing. It's hard to explain, but I've heard
other modern music played in such a way that it
seemed like the performers were just muddling
their way through, without any clear idea about
the form, style, or musical effect they were
trying to produce. Continuum, however, really
gives these pieces an identity that I can grasp.
I also particularly liked your use of pitch bend-
ing and other musical devices on the clarinet.
Again, it actually sounded like an idea was being
conveyed, instead of just oddly random notes and
effects. Much of this quality, no doubt, pertains
to how well-written the music is, so the composers
themselves deserve an ovation. If Continuum decides
to release another album, please anounce it on
Klarinet and I will be sure to contact you again
for details on how to obtain a copy for myself.

I would have written this note to you privately,
but I lost your email address, and I didn't think
you would mind being publicly congratulated for
such a terrific musical product. Bravo!!
