In these album notes, Bachman mentions some of the pseudonyms of Fillmore:
Harold Bennett, Al Hayes, Harry Hartley, Ray Hall, Will Huff and, yes,
believe it or not, Gus Beans. He says that some of these names were
picked at random from the Cincinnati, Ohio telephone directory. But, I
speculate that I can deduce the origin of one of those names, Harry
Hartley. There was another public school music educator here in
Evansville while Bachman was here, named Harry Hart. He had begun his
career in the 1930's, teaching in Robinson, Illinois, and I was one of his
successors there.

However, it seems that Will Huff was an actual person, who collaborated
with Fillmore on some compositions, at least to the extent of supplying
themes, etc., which Fillmore would orchestrate. After Huff died, his
widow and children received a settlement from the publishers of music
published under his name.

If I remember correctly, it was not "Will Huff" who was a real person, but
rather "E. G. Huffine." "Will Huff" was a true Fillmore pseudonym.
Huffine actually lived, and he wrote the melodies to a number of pieces,
most notably the march, "Them Basses." The rest of your note matches my
recollection -- Fillmore would harmonize and score Huffine's melodies, and
then publish them and pay royalties to Huffine. Upon Huffine's death his
widow elected a one-time sale of rights rather than continuing royalties.

There was at lease one additional Fillmore pseudonym -- "her" first name
was "Henrietta," but I forget "Henrietta's" last name.
