I have never heard anyone claim that any OTHER clarinet has its register
tube misplaced by 2 mm, nor have I heard of drastic tone hole repositioning
surgery being done on other brands. Again, it may only be that I have not
HEARD of such things. Maybe similar problems DO exist on other horns, but
nobody has yet said so in this forum that I recall. I anxiously await
information to this effect.

I do not resent professional instruments. I PLAY them (clarinet and alto
sax anyway) and appreciate their qualities like you do a fine wine. I just
want to make sure NO company attempts to sell vinegar under the label of
Cabernet Sauvignon, even if their well-deserved reputation makes that
possible. If by "hidden agenda" you did not mean a business/financial
interest, then perhaps I jumped to THAT conclusion, but it sure sounded
like it to me.

If you want to see my evidence, read the Klarinet archives. I am only
going by the repeated complaints of other list members, some of them by
people much better versed in clarinet design than I will ever be. Frankly,
I would be much happier to find out that other brands suffer the same
complaints or, better yet, that these peoples' knocks against the R-13 are
completely unfounded.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
