I can help you out with the Dan Johnston mouthpiece. I live in Buffalo and
own three of Dans mothpieces. Dan makes some truly fine mouthpieces that
produce a nice dark tone with a good tonal center The only problem with them
is that some of them tend to be a little tough to articulate. Dan sellls them
for anywheres from 70-85 dollars, which is very affordable. I am a junior in
high school and it is hard to afford some of the high quality products out
there, but that is a great price for the quality. They have medium thicknesss
tip rails and he makes both symmetrical and assymetrical facings. I dont know
if he uses a flat table or not, cause I have problems with moisture on the
backs of my reeds which are sanded flat on glass. I guess thats really all
hope I was of some help
