That's interesting. In effect this is also a result of the Resonance Spectral
Tuning of the clarinet bell. Wood is removed but on specific points so that the
nodes are strengthened. It is definitely lighter afterwords. However, Georg
Ignatius (inventor) says that if you take wood away at the *wrong* spots, it will
play worse....

I'd be curious to try the three bells in comparison to one another: the normal
(heavier), the lighter and the also lighter resonance spectal tuned. I don't
suppose you do bells for H. Wurlitzer clarinets, do you??
