I sincerly hope that you are right, and that only extremely small,
incremental improvements are required by the very top echelon players, and
that the normal production run clarinet is perfectly adequate for anyone
else just as it comes from the factory. You wouldn't think so, though, to
hear all the griping. And I still wonder why, when someone like Tom
Ridenour can design a better mousetrap, clarinetists don't beat a path to
his door.
