I've performed the concerto several times on Bb clarinet, in an arrangement I
did for 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 3 clarinets (doubled), 2 bassoons, bass clarinet
and 2 horns and string bass. I'm sure all you purists are cringing, but it
works extremely well, and audiences love it.
