Pulling out or putting a string in the register would seem to destroy
the acoustical studies of tone hole placement and fraising, not to
mention any deviations in the cylindrical bore of the clarinet that
change pitch.
I can't imagine anyone performing in A with that technique plausibly,
it's interesting I may try it though.
