And did you notice the number of annual orchestral concerts? Six?
One concert every month or two is not exactly a rigorous schedule.
Granted, the position also mentions quintet performances and school
functions, but this is clearly a small-time group, simply trying to
find the best possible talent on a very limited budget. 'Might be
good for somebody fresh out of their Master's program, who hasn't
yet had the opportunity to play the principal part on a lot of the
repertoire. It still comes down to having a secondary form of in-
come or, as somebody else mentioned, being independently wealthy.
Or maybe mom & dad are still pitching in on rent, food, and car
insurance...
