Hi, everyone. I've been subscribing to this list for a few months and I've
been receiving helpful tidbits here and there. I am now a freshman in high
school and have been playing clarinet for about four years. I recently was
the first chair of the second band at my high school. I am unsatisfied with
my position, and I want to attain a better seat next year. Unfortunately, I
cannot afford private lessons and they cannot be supplied by my school. Does
anyone have suggestions on method books, magazines, articles, etc. that would
be helpful in my practicing this summer? I have problems practicing during
marching season because I twirl in the color guard, so I need a method that
will help me improve over the summer. Perhaps someone could suggest a book
of warm-ups to keep me practicing during the fall. Thanks In Advance!
