I know you didn't ask for suggestions, but have you considered Lime? It's only
$65 and _much_ easier to get good-looking layout than Finale. You can download a
fully operational program to try it out. Look at http://datura.cerl.uiuc.edu/

I am trying to choose between upgrading Finale for $150 or buying Sibelius
for $250-300. I have the downloaded demo but the documentation for the demo
version doesn't give much information on what the software will do let alone
how to do it. Do you know if the tutorial you have can be downloaded from
someplace? I am surprised that it is easier to use than Encore. Encore was
the standard I used for ease of use. Finale will do more but when I need to
do something small and quick I use Encore. When I use Finale I need to
retrain myself and have 3 manuals spread out on the floor.
