I am a teacher,a band director. If you do not love kids and the thought
of teaching them what you love, then I would recommend that you not
teach. It is a tough job and if that is not where your heart is it will
be a struggle everyday. I am not trying to discourage you just give the
truth. A performance major is tough so you need to think long and hard,
it takes a lot of commitment to yourself and your art. I wish you the
best in making that decision.

150 jobs? Sounds optimistic. Perhaps the figure includes
all of those little $70/service community orchestra gigs,
where a section member leaves the group in order to enroll
in grad school or take a promotion at his/her day job in
another city.
