It is not all that surprising. My grade school (K-8) did not even have a
BAND, my high school only a concert band and a pep band, and even in
college there was no orchestra (at that time anyway) I could have played
in! The orchestra opportunities are few enough in the area I now live in
that the music store where I work has never stocked a A clarinet in the 5
years I have worked there (nor has anyone ever ASKED for one). If it had,
you KNOW I would have taken it for an extended spin!
