Dear Terri,
It has been my experience that barrel bore deviations cannot substantially
move pitch up. Your sharpness problems are more likely due to warmer
weather or playing in warmer rooms. I notice you are from Florida. Wood
changes are minimal there from season to season.....I know, I lived there
for three years in the 80's.
If sharpness continues to be a problem you might consider using longer
barrels and/or using lower pitched mouthpieces. These would include my own
artist mouthpiece, the Gigliotti, and the Vandoren M13 mouthpiece, which
tends to play quite low.
A standard Vandoren and various other brands are designed to play on the
high side for Americans (but not for 442 European pitch).
