Cathy, I think buffet is coming out with a "Student" line C clarinet for
around 1k. Call international music. Lisa always sends out really nice horns.
The thing I like about a c clarinet for klezmer is, the intensity of the
tone. I've tried Eb on the gigs but it is just over kill. There are alot of
klez players that don't use them, so I wouldn't call it a necesity. Just like
a few of my favorite players like the old albert system, I just havn't got
the gumption to do that yet. But the real way to use the "c" is: when the
meal is dairy use the "C" when it is meat use the Bb. Tom Puwalski
