For anything to get to San Francisco, it must come by covered wagon
over the great plains or else go by rowboat through the Suez Canal.
So you are going to have to tell me when you get back from Italy,
and if you read this before you go, please by $0.35 worth of pasta
and mail it to me in an envelope. When I am in France this summer
(and Dublin, too), I shall return the courtesy by sending you
2 ff worth of pate de fois gras.
