Hey,
I just got out of the car and was trasfixed (?) by a piece I heard
on NPR. It was the theme song from some movie, played on clarinet.I turned
the radio on half into the piece and was absolutely enraptured by the tone
of the performer. I thought, "this has to be Carl Leister! or maybe Robert
Marselus!" When the song ended the anouncer said it was RICHARD
STOLTZMAN!!! I always hear people talking about "that Stoltzman-ish sound
or tone," usually implying something bright and raspy--this was QUITE to
the contrary--even for him (I have heard a lot of his stuff, even live
here in Utah)
Anyway, I missed the name of the piece--something spanish
sounding. It's the title track from some classic film that Stoltzman
appartly recorded. The composer sounded spanish or hispanic as well--but
I missed the name...if anybody could help....

Thanks.
