I haven't used it much, but from what I can tell it is several things:
The most intuitive notation program out there.
One of the nicest looking (print... Score might be a bit better, but it is
a pain to use)

Its midi implementation is great. Any of its lacking in functionality is
fairly easily worked around by doing other things.

One of my best friends is a very good composer and there is nothing he can't
do with it. As a matter of fact, Sibelius used a bunch of his music on
their demo table at the NAMM show back in January. There are also some
major composers that have recently switched. (Unfortunately, I don't
remember all their names....)

I have had horrible luck with Finale and I am getting ready to ditch it and
buy myself a copy of Sibelius.
