I purchased Sibelius 6 weeks ago as a replacement for Encore 4.2. I have
not had the time to get past the tutorial level,,,yet. So far it is easier
than Encore and prints beautifully. In talking with stores and people
using programs, Sibelius has the potential to replace Finale in use.

Be aware that the suppposed list academic price is $299, but I have lately
seen $250 as an academic price. I paid the $299 presuming, wrongly, that
there was ONE academic price for all. According to Sibelius $299 is
suggested but a store can price it less. This defeats the fairness of the
academic pricing principal. After the semester is done, I am going to
argue with both Sibelius AND the store (catalog) where I bought it.
