Before the fire starts, I just want to say that I am enjoying the
discussion about marching within the clarinet section. When I was in high
school (late sixties), marching band was just beginning to come into its
own. I was section leader and wished I had someone to help me motivate and
improve the look of the section. Our band was small (35 people) and we only
had six clarinets. It was difficult to make the "grand" look. Because of
our size we worked on precision. Keep talking!
