how come everytime someone asks a clarinet ?? related to marching
band....someone thinks its not relevant to this
list.......hello......clarinet ?? are always relevant...just becuz its
not exactly what your type of clarinet doesnt mean it does not
belong.......so suck it up and move to the next topic.....

anyway........i agree with bob.......you have to drill and make sure
everyone understands they are NOT walking.......if they cant keep their
feet in step to just drills youll never put it to music.....

second.....is airflow......people have trouble playing while moving
becuz they let their lungs rest upon the old rib cages.......march as
though a string is pulling you straight up thru the middle of your head
and your feet are barely touching the ground...what have you
done.....you have just opened up your chest cavity which allows not only
for better air circulation but you can move, turn, bend etc....becuz you
organs arent bumping into each other .........

if you can do these 2 things successfully...hills are easy...as long as
you adjust your step to smaller size....dont try to take too big a step
going uphill......even if it you dont cover as much ground as on the
straightaway....

jacque
just my 2 sense
